Check how this cargo fits

CBM alone cannot predict a physical fit. Carton orientation and unused gaps matter.

CBM formula

How to calculate cubic meters for shipping.

Convert each dimension to meters, then multiply length × width × height × quantity. A carton measuring 50 × 40 × 30 cm has a volume of 0.06 m³; 100 cartons equal 6 CBM.

Container CBM is not a guarantee that cargo fits. Carton proportions and orientation create gaps, so the next step is a container loading calculation.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What does CBM mean?+

CBM means cubic meter, the standard volume unit used for many freight and cargo calculations.

How do I calculate CBM in centimeters?+

Multiply length × width × height × quantity, then divide by 1,000,000 to convert cubic centimeters to cubic meters.

How many CBM fit in a 40ft container?+

A typical 40ft dry container has about 67.7 m³ of nominal internal volume, but practical cargo volume is lower because cartons do not fill every gap.
